Unlike memory foam and many polyurethane and synthetic foams, organic latex — which is what we use in our Avocado mattresses — does not tend to retain heat. At the same time, the organic latex layers we use are located under the organic wool and ticking, so there is no direct contact between the mattress pad heater and latex. So, yes, you can use a mattress pad heater at a low to moderate setting. But please note that extended (all night) and repeated use may discolor the exterior ticking over time, which would not be covered under the terms of our 25-year limited warranty.

Of course, we would recommend using quality natural and organic bedding, rather than an electric mattress pad, if your goal is simply to stay warm and toasty at night.
