Our mattresses are safe and tested for both emissions and toxicity. We do not use polyurethane foams, memory foams, chemical flame retardants, or chemical adhesives between the comfort layers of our mattresses. Instead, we use GOLS organic certified Dunlop latex, GOTS organic certified wool, and GOTS organic certified cotton. These materials are GREENGUARD Gold certified for low emissions and quality assurance by UL Environment and hold STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®: Class 1 certifications. Our mattresses are also MADE SAFE certified — a rigorous scientific screening process that only allows the use of ingredients that are not known or suspected to harm human health, animals, aquatic life, or ecosystems.

In particularly humid climates, you may notice a very slight natural odor when your mattress arrives, which will dissipate quickly. This is because we sealed your mattress after it was made in order to facilitate shipping. This is a natural, not a chemical odor, and will go away quickly.
